Day 106 – 26th October – to Coral Bay
November 11th, 2011Today we aren’t driving very far, but mum wont let us watch movies so it felt like a very long time. We drove to Coral bay. It is famous for snorkelling. Before we left we did some homework. When we arrived we had a swim in the pool. I think the pool was heated because it was so warm. Then we went to the fish feeding where we didn’t get to feed any fish as there were too many people. The fish were snapper.
Day 105 – 25th October – Ningaloo reef
November 11th, 2011Today we went snorkelling again at Turquoise bay. We did drift snorkelling which is when the tide carries you along. Then we did some school work. Then we went fishing but we didn’t catch anything. L
Day 104 – 24th October – Ningaloo reef
November 11th, 2011Today we went snorkelling at Turquoise bay. I got really sunburnt on the back of my legs. We saw lots of coral and fish. Dad and Harry saw a turtle but mum and I missed out. We snorkelled for quite a long time. We were snorkelling off the beach and didn’t have to swim far to the reef. Then we went back and did some school work at the van. Then we went out for dinner. I had really nice grilled fish.
Day 103 – 23rd October – to Exmouth
November 11th, 2011Today we drove to Exmouth. We stopped and got some prawns for mum and dad on the way. We stayed at Ningaloo lighthouse. When we arrived we went and saw the resting mother turtles. Its breeding season and all the mother turtles come up on the beach to rest. They were huge and we could walk right up to them. Then we went up to the lighthouse and saw the sunset over the ocean and the lighthouse.
Day 102 – 22nd October – to Garalia station
November 11th, 2011Today we drove to Garalia station. It was a very, very long drive. When we arrived we found some horses. Then we had dinner. After dad cooked damper for dessert but he burnt it. It was still yummy though.
Day 101 – 21st October – Karijini
November 11th, 2011Today we went into Karijini national park. Alot of the walks that we did went to lookouts although some of them went in gorges. We went to the information centre and picked up some books that we had to fill in all the answers to. We swam at a place where a little boys father had died trying to save him called Fortesque falls. We had to walk down the very steep cliff very carefully so we didn’t fall. We also swam at Fern pool and I didn’t like it there because there were so many fish. Then we went to Fortesque falls and had a swim there as well. When we handed in our information sheets, we got a junior rangers badge. Then we went to the other gorges. All of them we just went to the lookouts because it was so late in the day and too hot. Then we went and had pizaa for dinner at Tom Price.
Day 100 – 20th October – To Tom Price
November 11th, 2011Today we had a big day of driving to Tom Price. We stayed in Tom Price but near there is a national park called Karijini national park. When we arrived we found our friends that we’d seen from Katherine and we also had cake and candles to celebrate 100 days. We’d also done 20,000km since leaving home.
Day 99 – 19th October – Port Hedland
November 11th, 2011Today we stayed in Port Hedland. We had to post some things, so first we went to the post office. We spent about 1/2hr there. Then we went across the road to the information centre and asked what we could do. She said in 10 minutes a ship is leaving the port. Half an hour later we were playing on the playground waiting for the ship to leave. After an hour mum was still on the phone so Harry, Emily, dad and I went and got a couple of pies and some chocolate milk that we shared. When mum was off the phone, we went back to the van and had lunch. Then we went to the shopping centre and had a cake and coffee. Then we went to Kmart and got some stuff. After that we saw really long trains with 300 or so carriages on them.
Day 98 – 18th October – to Port Hedland
October 18th, 2011Today we drove a long, long way to Port Hedland. It was over 600km. We left at about 9 o'clock and got to the caravan park at about 5 o'clock.
Day 97 – 17th October – Broome
October 18th, 2011Today we stayed at the caravan park until lunchtime playing with our friends. Then we went out for lunch at Zanders on Cable Beach where we had pizza and chips. Then we went to Gantheaume Point where there were dinosaur footprints and there was Anastasia’s pool. They had taken the chimney off Anastasia and her husbands house and moved it. It was on the ground. After that we went to Broome jetty where we walked some of the jetty. Then we went to the shopping centre. After that we went back to the caravan park and had dinner. Then we went to Sun pictures the worlds oldest outdoor movie theatre. We watched a movie named Red Dog. The movie was about a dog based on a real story. The dog had no-one that owned him because lots of people looked after him. When he got a master, one night he got killed on a motor bike. 3 weeks later, Red Dog decides to go looking for his master and got lifts all over the place in cars by hitch hiking. He got a boat to Japan. Then he came home and the girl who was engaged to the man that died looked after him with all the other miners. Eventually Red dog died as he was poisoned.
