We went to the war memorial. It is made out of metal birds. There are 600. They each represent a crew member  that died on the HMAS Sydney that sunk near here. We did a tour. Mum sat in the car and worked. Then  mum stayed in the car while we went grocery shopping. We also looked at the “Around the world” race yachts.  Then we drove to Cervantes, if you look on a road map it is quite close to the Pinnacles. They are the reason we went there. It took a while to drive to Cervantes, and after we had arrived and unpacked we went to the Pinnacles and drove around them. We found a lookout where we had a look out over it. There was a breath taking view. J

We got chosen again, but this time Emily fed one.  Then we drove to Shell beach where we went and the beach is covered in shells.  Then we drove to Kalbarri where there is a national park. On the way there we stopped at two parts of the national park. We did two short walks. One of them showed you a cliff that looked like a hawks head.

Day 111 – 31st October – Monkey Mia and Halloween

November 11th, 2011

Happy Halloween. Today we went to see the dolphins get fed again. I got picked to feed one. Then we went on a boat. First it took us to the pear farm where we got a tour and mum got some black pearl earrings. Then we saw three dugongs. Dugongs are the cow of the sea. We also saw alot of dolphins and three turtles. After, we went in the boom net which was really, really fun. The boom net was a net that hangs out the back of the boat and you sit in it when the boat is zooming along and you get really wet. Then we went to the information centre where dad showed them a picture he’d taken and they realised there was another baby dolphin. Before dinner we went trick or treating. We got dressed up as a witch, a ghost and a pumpkin. We now have a full bucket full of sweets. The bar gave us each free drinks.

Day 110 – 30th October – Monkey Mia

November 11th, 2011

Today we woke up early to see the dolphin feeding. They chose Harry, me and Emily but there was only one fish so Harry fed the dolphin. After, we went in the car to the Francois Peron national park that had an old station in it. At the station there was a hot tub. The water was bore, that’s why it was so hot. We were planning to go in it, but it was too hot when we felt it so we had a look at the sheep sheds. In the shearing sheds there was a sign that had all the different stages that the sheep and the wool went through. After, we went back to the van park and had a swim in the cold pool.

Day 109 – 29th October – Monkey Mia

November 11th, 2011

Today we drove to Monkey Mia. It is famous for the feeding of dolphins. When we arrived we went to the information centre. That was after our tiring walk on the beach. There is a new born dolphin n that is only 2 days old. On the way, just out of Hamelin station, mum and dad freed a goat from some wire. Then we saw the stromatolites. Most of them were dead. Stromatolites are living fossils. After we were finished in the information centre we went into town where we found an anchor that in 1791 was used. Then we went to the discovery centre. There were some information sheets, well they were quizzes. They were quite difficult to finish but once we’d done some of them we were finished in the discovery centre. After, we went to the supermarket where we got some sinkers, some bait and an ice-cream each. Then we went back to the van and had a swim. The pool was cold but the hot tub made up for it. J

Day 108 – 28th October – Hamelin station

November 11th, 2011

Today we drove to Hamelin station. We only stopped there because it was too far to drive to Monkey Mia in a day. There are stromatolites at the other side of the station which we are going to see tomorrow. For dinner we had, lamb and potatoes and mum and dad had prawns and crab. It was yummy. The road at the station was made out of tiny white shells.

Day 107 – 27th October – Coral Bay

November 11th, 2011

Today we went on a glass bottom boat. We did some coral viewing. Then we went snorkelling. First we went to an easy snorkelling spot where the current wasn’t so strong. After that we fed the fish.
